Youthline has a long history of running engaging personal and social education, and peer support sessions in school across the Wellington region. Our Wellington team of youth workers, counsellors and group facilitators are currently delivering some fantastic workshops around issues including:
- alcohol and drug awareness
- anger and violence
- body image and sexuality
- boundaries, respect and assertiveness
- choices, decision-making and goal setting
- family relationships
- friendship and peer pressure
- grief and loss
- identity and culture
- listening and communication skills
- relationships and intimacy
- self care and support
- stress and pressure
We can work with you to develop workshops the specifically meet the needs of your students. Participating schools get the best results with ongoing workshops, which can be delivered to classes, student learners and young people not engaging in the classroom. We aim to focus on the issues most relevant to students' lives and communities.
All facilitators have been through an extensive training programme, and have recent police clearance to work with young people.
We're able to offer these workshops for only $50 per facilitator per hour. Thanks to the generosity of our funders, we are also able to offer a limited number of workshops at no cost to schools that need them (although koha is always welcome).
Please email our Education & Youth Development Coordinator or phone (04) 8016924 to discuss options for your school or group.
